PP - Specific Halogen - Free Flame Retardant for Reinforced PP

XF - 8206A


is a halogen - free and environmentally - friendly flame retardant with phosphorus and nitrogen as flame - retarding elements, not restricted by the EU RoHS Directive and REACH regulations. XF - 8206A also has the characteristics of low - density flame - retardant products, low smoke generation, and low mold corrosion.
 
XF - 8206A does not belong to the ammonium polyphosphate intumescent flame - retardant system. It has higher thermal stability and thermal decomposition temperature, and is suitable for a wider range of processing conditions. With XF - 8206A flame - retardant, PP can achieve UL 94 v - 0 (0.75mm) in the flammability test, and pass the 70°C × 168 - hour water immersion test (UL746C), and pass GWIT 750°C and GWF1 960°C glow - wire tests; XF - 8206A can also be applied to glass - fiber - reinforced PP, achieving UL 94 v - o (1.5mm); and during the extrusion process of polyolefin, there will be no water - seepage situation, and multiple - layer screens can be added during the extrusion process.

Processing Precautions

The thermal decomposition temperature of XF - 8206A in nitrogen is 280°C. Therefore, the processing temperature of the twin - screw extruder can be adjusted according to specific conditions to enhance dispersion and improve plasticization. Several layers of screens can be added during the extrusion process. A certain degree of vacuum must be maintained during the twin - screw extrusion process.
 
Substances in the system that have an adverse effect on flame retardancy, such as phthalocyanine green and other CI - containing pigments, will lead to flame - retardant failure. When the amount of carbon black used is greater than 0.5%, the flame - retardant performance will decrease.
