It is a halogen-free flame retardant in an organophosphorus nitrogen system, and the product complies with ROHS requirements. When XF-8501B flame retardant is added to PA, PBT and PET materials, it will foam and expand on the surface of the resin during combustion to form a porous carbon layer. This carbon layer plays the role of heat insulation, oxygen isolation and prevention of the formation of molten droplets. This flame retardant also has a certain effect of suppressing the amount of smoke produced and does not generate toxic or corrosive gases. It contains no melamine residue and can pass the double 85 test. It features non-absorbency, no precipitation, excellent thermal stability and processability, making it an ideal, highly efficient and environmentally friendly flame retardant.

Recommended Dosage

The processing temperature should be appropriate (within an extrusion temperature of 240°C). However, due to the high shear heat of the screw, avoid the combined heat effect of heat and shear, which may cause the flame retardant to decompose due to overheating (the thermal decomposition temperature of XF - 8501B is greater than 350°C). Therefore, stronger pre - shear before the glass fiber inlet of the screw combination helps with the mixing of PA and the flame retardant. After the glass fiber inlet, the shear should be appropriate. The weaker the shear is while being able to cut the glass fiber, the better.

This product is suitable for flame retardant modification of PA6, PA66, PBT, PET and their glass fiber materials. The recommended addition amount is 18-23% (The dosage should be selected based on the glass fiber content of the material. For example, when PA6+GF30 flame retardant XF-8501B is added at 18%, the flame retardancy can reach UL94,1.6mmV0;) Adding 22% of PA6+GF15 flame retardant XF-8501B can achieve UL94 (1.6mmV0).
