XF - 8501Y
 
XF - 8501Y is a phosphorus - and - salt - composite halogen - free flame retardant, and the product complies with ROHS requirements. When XF - 8501Y is added to polyamide resin, it will foam and expand on the surface of the resin during heat cracking or combustion, forming a porous carbon layer. This carbon layer plays roles in heat insulation, oxygen isolation, flame retardancy, and can prevent dripping. The flame retardant also has a certain effect on suppressing smoke generation, and does not produce toxic or corrosive gases. In addition, XF - 8501Y has no water absorption and no exudation, and exhibits excellent thermal stability and processing performance. The molded products have characteristics such as resistance to baking and boiling water, and can pass the double 85 test. It is an ideal and efficient environmentally - friendly flame retardant.

Processing Precautions

The processing temperature should be appropriate (within an extrusion temperature of 240°C). However, due to the high shear heat of the screw, avoid the combined heat effect of heat and shear, which may cause the flame retardant to decompose due to overheating (the thermal decomposition temperature of XF - 8501Y is greater than 350°C). Therefore, stronger pre - shear before the glass fiber inlet of the screw combination helps with the mixing of PA and the flame retardant. After the glass fiber inlet, the shear should be appropriate. The weaker the shear is while being able to cut the glass fiber, the better.

 

Recommended Dosage

This product is suitable for flame - retarding PA6 and PA66 with glass fiber. Adjust the dosage of the flame retardant according to the amount of added glass fiber. When the glass fiber addition in PA6 or PA66 is 25 - 30%, the reference dosage of the flame retardant is 18%. When the glass fiber addition in PA6 or PA66 is 15%, the reference dosage of the flame retardant is 22%.

After compounding PA66 58%, glass fiber 25%, XF - 8501Y 15%, and other additives 2%, the extrusion temperature is 150 - 240°C, the main engine speed is 240 rpm, and the injection temperature is 220 - 260°C. The performance is as follows:
