is a phosphorus - and - salt - composite halogen - free flame retardant, and the product complies with ROHS requirements. When XF - 8501Y is added to polyamide resin, it will foam and expand on the surface of the resin during heat cracking or combustion, forming a porous carbon layer. This carbon layer plays roles in heat insulation, oxygen isolation, flame retardancy, and can prevent dripping. The flame retardant also has a certain effect on suppressing smoke generation, and does not produce toxic or corrosive gases. In addition, XF - 8501Y has no water absorption and no exudation, and exhibits excellent thermal stability and processing performance. The molded products have characteristics such as resistance to baking and boiling water, and can pass the double 85 test. It is an ideal and efficient environmentally - friendly flame retardant.

Processing Precautions

The processing temperature should be moderate (extrusion temperature within 260ºC).However, due to the high shear heat of the screw, avoid the additional heat - generating effect caused by the superposition of heat and shear, which may lead to local overheating of the screw and cause the decomposition of the flame retardant (the thermal decomposition temperature of XF - 8501Y is greater than 350°C). Therefore, the pre - extrusion shear of the screw combination should be stronger, which helps with the mixing of PA and the flame retardant. The post - extrusion shear should be appropriate. When the glass fiber can be cut off, the weaker the shear, the better.

Recommended Dosage

This product is suitable for flame retardant modification of PA6, PA66, PBT, PET and their glass fiber materials. The recommended addition amount is 20-28% (The dosage should be selected based on the glass fiber content of the material. For example, when PA6+GF30 flame retardant XF-8501Y-P is added with 22%, the flame retardancy can reach UL94,1.6mmV0;) The addition of 23% of PA6+GF15 flame retardant XF-8501Y-P can achieve UL94 (1.6mmV0).
